A client of mine recently purchased a new couch and so we had the opportunity to work with the cords and cables that had been living (and seemingly having a snarling contest!) underneath his old couch.

Our solutions: We took out cords for items no longer in use, labeled existing cords that were in use, and created a space behind a shelf of books for items such as routers, cable modems, etc. We then consolidated from four surge protectors down to two. Here are the before and after shots:

Right side of floor before:

lawley floor with cords B4 - 2

Right side of floor after (notice the cords making their way up to the bookshelf on the right – we anticipate the couch and the lamp hiding them when the work is complete):

Lawley floor NO cords after - 3

Left side of floor before (notice router and modem collecting dust!):

Left side of floor after (router and modem safely tucked away behind books on the bookshelf – we left the router slightly visible between two books so that the lights could be seen in case of technical issues):

I am looking forward to seeing his new couch and to hearing what his wife Kathy has to say about our work!
