This post is from our fantastic organizer, Jeanne Fox-Alston.
When I worked at a trade association and had large projects, I would think about the desired outcome and how to reach it by making a list of everything that needed to be done.
I have a similar approach to organizing work:
1. Picture the desired outcome.
2. Identify the specific things that need to be done to reach that outcome.
3. Tackle them one by one.
In many instances, that involves working on specific rooms in a house (such as basements, bedrooms and home offices), one at a time. But the end goal is to make the entire living space function better.
I love Sudoku puzzles, and particularly like the Samurai Sudoku in the Sunday Washington Post.
It’s a five-part puzzle, and in the end one must find the solution that works for the entire puzzle, not just one piece of it. I think the same principal applies when organizing homes.
Let us help you solve the puzzle!
