“Early autumn is the traditional time for taking stock: what do we need to release so we won’t feel burdened in the months ahead?”
Cait Johnson
As the trees begin to relinquish their leaves, think of areas in your home or in your life where you could benefit from a process of letting go. Look around for items that have “faded” and lost their luster. Identify things that have outlived their usefulness. Load anything that might be useful to someone else into a bag and take it to the thrift store or call for a pickup.
Create one bare space in your home. This could be the top of a dresser, the top of a refrigerator, a space under a bed, or even a drawer. Stand near the cleared space and close your eyes. Take three long, deep breaths. Open your eyes and feel the new energy of the cleared space.
See if you can keep that space clear of clutter for one week.
